Nowadays a lot of organizations are ruled by a code of ethics, a sort of “gentlemen agreement” above the organization and its cooperators to fit rules and aims in a clear and shared way.

The etymology of the word “ethic” says:

“Tradition Science that, ruling the human actions in conformity to the moral law, is directed to the goodness.

The complex of moral  conviction of a single or a group: the professional ethic drives each professional worker to the correct and honest development of its work”

The main aim of this code of ethics is to draw the operational guide lines that Teachers, trainers and Educational  organizations connected with CEDIP must follow to warrant a high quality partnership in comparison with the defined standards

WHY A CODE OF ETHICS

A good reputation is a distinctive element for CEDIP and for all its members, in the management of the relationship with the different customers.

Sharing and cooperation are two fundamental aspects that determine the efficiency of the code of ethics: both are possible only if CEDIP and its members develop together a trusting relationship with  different customers and interlocutors.

The code of ethics is the instrument through which all duties and efforts become the basement of its own reputation. Through respect  of a code of ethics, it is possible to gain the trust of  everyone with the aim to  sustain and improve its own reputation.

This code is applicable in each country.  Nevertheless in case of conflict with local laws and regulations, these last ones should prevail.

GUIDE LINES

Teachers, Trainers and educational organizations members of CEDIP must give to its pupils and customers all proper materials that are necessary to the correct realization of courses (books, schedules, divulgation materials), theoretical and practical lessons must follow the  Rules for the authorized diving certifications. Remember that pupils ought to learn just as teacher and trainers ought to teach and this verbal agreement has a very big moral value.

Teachers, Trainers and Educational organizations members of CEDIP must follow all the rules about privacy, must not divulgate personal information without authorization, such as medical certification, pictures, or examination results to  obtain  the diving  certifications.

Within the limits of local regulations,  e educational organizations member of CEDIP will recognize the diving  certifications released by other CEDIP organizations  on its own territory and will use the CEDIP logo through website, internet and magazines. The “password” is cooperation.

Teachers, trainers and educational organizations members of CEDIP are requested to conserve the evidences of courses and examinations that will take place, they are  responsible of the certifications delivery of differente levels; diving licences are released exclusively by CEDIP on specific request of the different organization member, that recognize the professionality and preparation of the trainer.  The production of diving  certifications, and CEDIP documents without authorization, as well as unauthorized copies of books and registered manuals for commercial purposes are prohibited .

CEDIP instructors will warrant for the  physical and moral integrity of its pupils and customers, granting the safe condition for the organization of the activity.They cannot accept any request or threats that can cause injuries to anybody

One of the CEDIP motto is “each diver is welcome”, for this reason CEDIP and its members engage themselves to welcome any pupil or customer without distinction of sex, religion, race or skin color

CEDIP instructors and educational organizations members of CEDIP will follow the rules of this code of ethics, avoiding dangerous actions that can damage the image or the name of the association, and will pay attention to those organizations who declare to operate in the  name of CEDIP without legal authorization.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

The environment is a fundamental goods that CEDIP wants to safeguard ; for this aim CEDIP instructors and educational organizations members of CEDIP must organize  their activities to achieve  a correct balance between didactical  constraints and essential environment duties, in consideration for the future generations.

CEDIP promote activities finalized to save the sea life and sea environment, in the respect of  flora fauna, and ecosystems  acting to raise public awareness about the environmental impact of human activities.
